Engineers Slam Into Pig Aortas to Make Cars Safer

The aorta is a marvel of elasticity. Yet the body's largest artery is not so elastic when a metal block slams into it at 30 mph. This is what researchers at Temple University do again and again in an effort to make cars safer.
