A Volkswagen já tem prontas as peças necessárias para a futura produção nacional do motor EA211 1.0 três cilindros sobrealimentado com turbocompressor e também dotado de injeção direta. A montadora realizou o desenvolvimento em conjunto com diversos fornecedores locais.
Além do turbo em si, que também será produzido no País, diversos componentes do motor, em especial os periféricos, são distintos do EA211 1.0 três cilindros que já equipa o Up! e a versão Bluemotion do Fox, revelaram fontes próximas ao processo de desenvolvimento à Agência AutoData.
O modelo a estrear este novo conjunto mecânico, de potência perto dos 110 cv e com produção na fábrica de motores da montadora em São Carlos, no Interior paulista, será o Taigun, SUV compacto que será mostrado em sua versão definitiva de produção no Salão do Automóvel de São Paulo, no fim de outubro. As vendas devem começar logo em seguida ou no máximo no início de 2015.
O modelo já foi apresentado como protótipo na edição 2012 do Salão, em primazia mundial, e concorrerá diretamente não só com Ford EcoSport e Renault Duster mas também com mais quatro lançamentos de peso no segmento: Peugeot 2008, os SUVs compactos de Honda – chamado de Vezel no Japão e de nome distinto no Brasil – e Hyundai e ainda o Jeep Renegade, que será produzido pela Fiat em Pernambuco.
A presença dos quatro últimos no Salão de São Paulo também já está confirmada. Além deles também uma versão do EcoSport com face-lift e algumas evoluções mecânicas poderá estar no estande da Ford. E, de quebra, não será surpresa se o Duster com face-lift, já conhecido na Europa com emblema Dacia, aportar no estande da Renault.
Com isso, é certo que a mostra em 2014 carregará como mote informal algo muito próximo de ‘O Salão dos SUVs compactos’, com algo como sete novidades do segmento, em lançamento ou pré-lançamento. A briga por maior destaque dentro desta faixa durante o evento, assim, promete ser acirradíssima.
